paragon 2 chuff sound fade
Posted by aweinstock on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 9:47 AM

Hi all

I have a BLI Paragon 2 Niagara. When accelerating the chuff sound fades out  momentarily-all other sounds remain OK. This is particularly annoying since that is when there should be an increase in chuff volume, not a dropout of sound. All my P2 diesels  are fine. I tried a reset and increasing the value of CV3 without effect. Does anyone else find this on this on other P2 steamers? Do you have a fix?

Thanks, aweinstock

I think that is how all P2 steams sound. If you would of lost the chuff sound all together the chuff sensor would be bad. When running, does the smoke puff out? If not it just could be the chuff sensor. The chuff sound and smoke are controlled by the sensor. I have quite a few BLI P2 steam, and when you accelerate, most of them if not all of them do not increase their chuff sound but in fact the opposite occurs.

Smoke and other sounds are OK. Very disappointed with this P2 deficiency. Thanks Joe
