ok so i have a soundtraxx rs11 sound decoder. got it all installed and it runs great. Would like to adjust the volume of the prime mover and bell sounds. Would also like to,adjust the speed tables as well. Runs way to fast for my liking. I run with NCE power prodcc command throttle. I tried programing on the main but i cannot adjust the speeds like i can with other decoders going into the motor control page. What am i Missing here? I can make adjustment to cv 115 to change the horn type but that is all.
Any help will be appreciated. For what it is worth i ended up saying effit when installing into the rs 11 and ended up putting it in one of my boxcabs. Figured that no one will notice but me.
Thanks
mike

You need to go to the SoundTraxx web site and download the technical reference manual for that decoder; and most programming must be performed on a programming track, not the main.
Not being able to adjust the speed is a major flaw with Tsunami, which does not support the mid- and max-motor voltage setting CVs, so you'll have to create a 28 step speed table.

ok well technically my main is my programming track. All 3 ft of it. Hahaha. I went to program key and went along like i usually do. Guess i will have to bone up on my computer speak. Tried reading some of the manual the other day and my eyes glazed over. Why can't things be simpler.
rs2mike:
I know what you mean by "...eyes glazed over." Been there many times.
If your problem is that the Tsunami starts off too quickly then there is a solution. I was able to get it to work despite my eyes being "glazed over" somewhat.

I don't believe that this is correct. He should be able to do most of his programming on the main. I have done many of them using JMRI and my PowerPro, and that was done with the loco on the main.
The lack of the CVs to set mid and max speed is a flaw as you point out. The Tsunami does come with a group of canned speed curves that one may access by changing CVs as discussed in the instructions, assuming that the eyes don't glaze over. JMRI makes that process easier.
I have also had some success slowing down a unit's starting speed using speed tables, and without all the other munipulation suggested in that other thread. But whatever works.

Why can't things be simpler.
They can be.
Do you have a Bachmann DCC locomotive?
In short, tihngs are more complicated because that's what it takes to implement the features and provide the options that many users like and are willing to pay for.

But they aren't.
Yep it is a bachmann 70 ton. Funny thing it started off in a altas rs11 but it did not run right after install so i went for the hybrid rs11. Ran great but had shorting issues so before i killed the decoder i put it in the boxcab. But come to think of it the reason ot was shorting was because the cab detent was hitting the decoder and cocking the motor causing it to touch something that i thought was completly covered. If i do recall i may have a spare kato motor sitting around doing nothing. Perhaps i will swap motors and put the rs 11 decoder back in the hybrid That will make 4 swaps. Lol. Oh well i may get it right. Also i found a youtube vid that did simplify things a whole bunch. So i will try that when i get home
