I have run into some problems with my layout. I added turnout at the curve on the East end of the layout to expand my layout. At the bottom right there is a new turn out butting up against the original turnout at the end of the track at the very bottom. On the main line my command station shorts when the loco crosses the turnout. If the new switch is thrown the other way, there is no problem. Should I put insulaters on the new turnout? Where? Should I run feeders to the new turnout? It is an atlas TO. Autoreverser? I do not have the dead end straight tracks pointing down on each end.I have also put a turnout at the top right on the curve. I wish I could type on the plan above to show this, but that wont work. Anyone have an editable Virginian plan I can use?
I think that you are going to have to diagram that track configuration in order to make any sense out of it.

If you added anothe rturnout at the bottom right where there is the short stub (where in the magazine series they added the Turtle Creek Extension), this should not be a problem. If you are getting a short - what brand of turnotu did you use?
If instead this new turnout connects the right-most track to the second fromt eh right track, you have created a reverse loop.
