Looking for Hard to Find Switch Motor? Please HELP
Posted by hwolf on Thursday, January 30, 2014 4:09 PM

If you have been following H Wolf switch problem.  I have a bad switch motor.

I am trying to find an ATLAS Code 83 Remote Switch RH HO ( above layout )

Atlas Part # ATL 585.

Before you ask me why I just don't use a different one. Unfortunatly I can't use a different one because this is the only one on a grade with a plywood base under it.

If anyone has one please let me know or if your LHS has one please let me know.

Thanks in advance

I saw that.  It still has 5 day and I don't know what it will go for.  By the way.  Thanks for the VOM advise.  I also was able to get a visual on the machine and it was fryed and melted.

Well, the website for this place claims to have it in stock: http://www.railyardhobbies.com/atlas-code-83-rh-remote-switch-machine.html.  You might call them to see if it's true of false.

I have two(2) code 83 Atlas switch machine #585 Right remote, that snap on the side of the switch. New in PKG never used. If you are interested PM Me with your add. and I'll mail them or one to you. I'll be busy the whole morning at the VA Hospital tomorrow, so don't worry if I don't answer right away.

Sticker on them is 7.45, I'll pay postage, unless you live in China.

Harold,

E-mail sent. I shut down early last nite. If you get this before I leave I'll try to answer, but for sure later. They have your name on them already, so they are not going anywhere.

A melted switch motor is indicative of a stuck control push button switch applying continual power to it.  Replace that switch before replacing the motor, or the replacement motor will also be destroyed.
