Switch Wiring problem?
Posted by hwolf on Saturday, January 25, 2014 3:50 PM

I have just replaced one of my push button switches with another Totoise swich.

I removed the buttons by cutting of their wires an replacing the holes with LED's for the Totoise.

The problem is now is that the other push button switches now do not work.

I have included a wiring diagram. I can't seem to find a AC source. All of the other switches are wired as shown.

There is a correction on the drawing.  The wire is coming from the center of the bar going across not the switch.

not exactly sure what the boxes in the diagram mean.   I assume the bottom box is a power supply, the black and red circles are push-button switches, and the top box the switch motor with 3 connections.

the switch motor has a common connection to the power supply.  the other two connections on the switch motor are connected thru separate push-buttons switches to the other power supply connection.

If my understanding of your drawing is correct, you're missing that 2nd connection to the power supply.   Your drawing needs a connection between the thick line between the two push-buttons and the 2nd power supply connection in the bottom box.

I agree with greg.  You have an incomplete circuit.

It's not a Tortoise. That is what I put in. It is an Atlas with push buttons.

I will check tomorrow on the drawing. Remember that all the atlas switches stoped working which leads be to beleive that I had them in Series.

Check back tomorrow.
