I have recently completed the track layout with double insulators where indicated on the Atlas plan but i also included the single insulated locations, i\m thinking i do not require these on DCC? running to locos at the moment i cant seem to get them running without them eventually meeting on the track, could the single insulators be causing my problem? this is a link to my Atlas layout.....http://www.digitrax.com/tsd/KB15/ho-scale-transbay-interwoven-track-plan-auto-rever/
I have installed two AR1's at the x and y and the x' and y' on the layout. Ihave moved the turntable to the upper right hand section extending the siding.

If the later such that they are operating and moving about just fine but then eventually come onto the same track as in a head on collision, that is not a insluation issue nor a DCC issue. The routing of trains on the track is an operational issue. The Transbay is a particularly tricky layout on which to run two trains simultaniously. It is basically a figure-8 with only 1 passing siding but with two reversing loops. If there are two trains running they must continually cross each other and are continually changing directions. But that is the "fun" of dispatching trains, don't send them out on a track where they are going to run into another train.
If on the other hand the trains are stopping on certian sections of the track and you have not already wired all the single insulated sections together, the wiring will need to be considered. There have been several threads concerning the wiring of this particular track plan.
