I have a  post war zw 275W  version. Off that i power my track side acessorys   and my three train lines.     Tow of those line go though track power controlers.      I noticed when i was running my pesnnsy T 1 with 7 passenger cars it got quite warm.   I am thinking the solinid was going out in my lionel breaker house.   Becuase i swiched it over to my tpC 400 and it runs cool.    Any thoughts?

Think you will do better if you go  over to the Classic Toy Trains section of the forums.  Top  of page, Trains.com Sites will get you there.  Most of the folks here are HO and N.  CTT does a lot more with Lionel.  Not that most of us haven't had one in our lives, just not as up to date on prices and uses.

Good luck,

Richard
