Preparing to design a fascia mount control panel and want to leave plenty of room for some throttle jacks. Might anyone know the dimensions of the CVP Products aka Easy DCC premade fascia plate throttle jacks? Checked my manual and the CVP website, but no dice.
Thanks and regards, Peter
Apparently, a mounting template comes with the fascia plate kit, but the dimensions of the plate is not included anywhere in CVP's manual or on their web site.
Send an email inquiry to CVP -- they are good about answering such questions.
Thanks Cacole, I was reluctant to email CVP until after the holiday season as they often get hammered with email, but went ahead and did so. This morning CVP sent me a detailed drawing of the Fascia Plate throttle jack. Face plate measures 2"x4". Depth is 2", but recommended to allow an extra inch or so for cable escape.
CVP is indeed great at customer service, via email or phone.
regards, Peter
According to their web site, the CVP tethered throttle uses a standard 2-conductor phone plug. You can buy these jacks at any electronics place, drill holes and wire them in yourself.
I have a Lenz system, which uses 5-pin DIN connectors. I bought a bunch of jacks and put them every five feet or so around the perimeter of my layout.

MrB,
Thanks for the suggestion. You are correct about the CVP tethered throttle using a standard 1/4" two conductor mono jack. I kind of like the idea of the DIY jacks as that would mean the jack would have a solid soldered connection to the coaxial throttle bus cable, but at the loss of cable portability. The CVP manual gives some instructions about wiring one's own throttle jacks.
