Consisting Mishap's and Small Explosions
Posted by rockymidlandrr on Monday, October 7, 2013 10:17 PM

Hi All,

After years of dependable and reliable operation of a Prodigy Advance running my layout and having about 8-10 engines consisted together, those years came to an end.  In an incident in which a giant blue electrical fire was involved-totally human error- the prodigy advance died.

Fortunately I can still run trains because I had purchased a digitrax Super Chief set with a DT400 throttle to be compliant with what my club has.  All of the engine consists that I had on the layout survived the blue flame of death but they're still consisted together and still run on the consist address the Advance assigned to them.

Million Dollar question-  How do I get these consists un-consisted using the Digitrax DT400?

Thanks in Advance!!

Writing a value of CV19=0 for each locos will do it.

Is it really that simple?  I did a reset on one decoder, setting CV8 to 8, thinking that would for sure fix it and it hasn't ran since then.  Address of 3 will not work, nor will the consist address or locomotive address.

Doesn;t sound like the reset took. What decoder is it? Not all reset with CV8=8.

Writing 0 to CV19 definitely will work. The decoder will revert to using whatever individual address it had.
