Unconnecting Kato Unitrack N Scale Turnouts?
Posted by BNSF4ever on Monday, September 9, 2013 6:34 PM

I am working on the Kato Salt Lake Route and all the N scale Unitrack turnouts provided in the track pack were powered. They all have manual switches you can flip as well. Is there anyway to disconnect the power wires but saving them for later use? My layout is rather temporary and I don't want to drill any other holes or have any more wiring issues than necessary. But rather than just snip wires, I  want to retain that capability in the future. I see you can unscrew a plate underneath the turnout. Is there a way to disconnect but not break the wiring in there?

I'm pretty sure that if you unscrew the bottom plate you can unsolder the wires.....Mike
