Hi,
I have a Digitrax DB150, DT402D throttle with update installed, UR92 with Power wall wart installed on my 16'x 20' "HO" scale layout. UR92 is installed on fascia about three feet from command station.
When I have my DT402D plugged into my UR92 with green light on and track power on I can do anything I want with the throttle. When I unplug the DT402D from the UR92 I have everything on the throttle that is on the throttle plugged into UR92 but I cannot select a locomotive on my throttle. I also have a brand new 9V Duracell battery in the throttle too.
While unplugged I can also turn track power off and on with throttle, and option switch I can use but not do anything in the options.
The locomotive I have selected on the throttle I can run if throttle is about 6-8" from UR92 but two feet away nothing works.
Hopefully there is a fix that I have not found searching this forum. Any help much appreciated.
Thanks,
Barry
You must have the DT400-series throttle plugged in to acquire a locomotive; I'm not surprised there are other things that require plug-in.

Kevin,
The OP has a DT402D throttle and a UR92 Duplex wireless receiver. This should work. I have the same setup at home and at the club. All I have to do is plug in the throttle once to let the command station know it is there and I can do everything wireless after that.
OP,
What is the battery voltage on the throttle panel when you plug/unplug the throttle? At about 8 volts this get sort of intermittent. Our club uses POWEREX 9.6v rechargeable batteries. Normal batteries seem to last only 2-3 hours, and the normal rechargeable batteries you find at the local big box store are really only 8.4v - they last about 1.5 hours and they then need to be recharged.

Jim,
When I was trying this last night the Duracell read about 8.7V. The throttle displays this information so fast & short it is hard to know exactly what it is.
I know about the batteries and have them on my list to purchase but I would like to get this throttle to work wireless on this system before I invest in those batteries and charger.
Would I presume that the batteries are the culprit? I cannot get the throttle to respond unplugged at all and only can run the locomotive I have selected if the throttle is only a few inches from the UR92.
I cannot even select a new locomotive unless the throttle is plugged in.
Barry,
With 8.7v - It should work fine. I have had mine 20-30 ft away at the club and it still works(only one UR92 at the club). You may need to talk with the Digitrax Tech Support folks...
I just sent an email to Digitrax to see if they have a answer.
Saturday I will be going to the club and will try the throttle there as we have a UR92 installed and see if my throttle works like it is suppose to there.
I have a similar problem and it is the radio drifting on mine. I haven't sent it back but will soon, I run it on IR of connected.
Usually it is a battery problem.

Friends,
I received a note from Digitrax Tech Support and they think it is in the radio part of the throttle.
Funny thing about this throttle is I bought brand new to use at the train club as I don't use Digitrax at home and the display did not work right out of the new box plugged into the club Digitrax system. First shipping cost incurred to send in.
Then the upgrade wouldn't install so I had to submit to Digitrax for that upgrade, second shipping cost incurred.
I just received this Digitrax system a couple weeks ago from a friend of mine and then I bought a UR92 for the DT402D throttle and since I have had this throttle (over a year now) it has not been used one hour and nothing about this throttle seems to be right from the get go.
Now Digitrax wants me to send it in for them to check it over to fix, this will be the third shipping cost incurred.
I am beginning to think I got a lemon with this throttle, three times to return to Digitrax and has not been use one hour since I got it.

With the 402D and UR92 that the OP has, your statement is not true. Your contempt for Digitrax is clearly visible in your comment.
I use the PowerEX batteries, too. I NEVER plug my throttles in. My throttles work 20 or 30 feet from the UR92.
I suggest trying a fresh battery. If that doesn't do it try a different throttle on your layout, or your throttle on a different layout if either of those is possible.

Hi all,
Just a short note about this.
I happened to make a trip today and was close enough to the club to try this throttle out there and everything that I have a problem with at home here is the same at the club.
I will be contacting Digitrax and will return to them as it is definitely a throttle problem.
With all the problems I have experienced with this throttle I am planning to ask Digitrax to send me a new throttle and they can have this one.
Thanks for all the tips and advice.
Just a short update as I received my throttle from Digitrax Friday 7/12 after being in their shop just short of 5 weeks.
The throttle works fine but when they returned it to me the locking tab on the plug flops around and appears that it will break off just looking at it. The tech I emailed about yesterday said he taped the plug to the throttle and it did not appear loose when he packaged it. Oh well his words.
I must admit that I am very disappointed in the service I received from Digitrax as when I sent the throttle in they told me it would be done and returned in two weeks, but took almost 5 weeks.
I use both NCE & Digitrax systems on my layout at home and both work equally well but I just wish Digitrax would have done a better job with this service as I feel I have a lemon throttle from the first time I used it and wish Digitrax would have just sent me a new throttle.
Oh well,
