Caboose Industries Ground Throws with DCC
Posted by PastorJack59 on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 3:02 PM

Hey, all!

Can anyone tell me, can Caboose Industries ground throws be used on a DCC-powered layout? If so, how?  Thanks!

Jack.

Jack:

Caboose industries can certainly be used with a DCC layout. They are used to manually throw switches and can be used on DC and DCC layouts. Model 202S is a common ground throw used by many modelers. Model 220S is a ground throw that comes with a built in SPDT switch to control either signals, panel lights or hot frogs. I use both on my DCC layout and am veyr pleased with them.

Happy to help Jack. The 220S ground throws have a decent SPDT switch mechanism that requires some assembly. Once you get the hang of it they go together rather well. However you shouldn't try your first assembly in fron of any of your congregation - they may question your vocabulary Wink.

Jack,

I use Fast Tracks turnouts on my layout and they come with live frogs.  The CI 220S ground throws work great for switching the polarity.
