Anyone have experience using this kind of tape in electrical installations eg. decoder fine wiring or even gap filling on track or turnouts? If so what are your thoughts?

Mike.
When I put the lights in my aggregate plant I used copper foil tape as a buss line for the common lead. I got the tape from a friend of mine who does stained glass work. Working fast and tinning the spot before adding the wire did not melt or deform the plastic it was stuck to.

I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
I tried some of the copper foil tape sold at Hobby Lobby just to see how it would work for wiring in a model structure or locomotive. It solders very easily. I soldered small 24ga wire to it but not while mounted to a plastic surface as I didn't think it would work without melting/distorting the plastic. Apparently Pete has answered that questiion. I can definately see applications for it as you can stick it to any smooth surface and paint over it..
