Looking for the manufacture of this Turnout control panel
Posted by dmc92311 on Friday, March 29, 2013 7:30 AM

Hello

I am trying to find a manufacture for this Switch control panel, It is made of blocks that can be designed to your layout, and can either be switched with the slide pen or push buttons. Thanks for your help in advance.

LION cannot help you with that panel. LION makes his own panels. Much cheaper that way.

I am now working on this panel:

It will get bigger if you click on it a few times. (Notice that the font is correct for this era of the IND subway.)

It was printed on a computer using Serif PagePlus X6 software, but any publishing program can do it. The trick is to tell the program that the paper is 11" tall by 72" long. The program will send it to your printer in sections, in this case it printed on 5 11x17 sheets.

LION will next find a 3/8" plywood board 1' x 6'  and will use silicone caulk to affix the pages to the board. Spread the caulk evenly with no gaps, you will have plenty of time to attach the paper and can adjust it perfectly.

Use a sharp drill bit to make the holes for your lights, switches or whatever. This particular model board will have no switches on it, only indicator lights to mark the locations of the trains. Up to eight trains will be running on the layout at any give time (at least during rush hours). Turnouts are controlled by my interlocking plant which is a separate beast.

Spend money if you have it, LION does not get very much and must improvise almost everything, but the model board is simply cheap and easy.
