Nscale Atheran F45 Sound Question
Posted by darrel480 on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 1:21 PM

I have an nsale Atheran F45 engine with a SoundTraxx Tsunami decorder.  I general like the sound and engine but one thing "bugs" me.  When I power up my DCC system the engine automatically starts the sound with the start up sequence.  I would like to be able to start the sound when I want to instead.  I always have to shut the engine down first before doing anything else.  Does anyone know if there is a way to change this so the engine remains quiet (shut down)  when the DCC power is started?  I am using an MRC Advanced-2 DDC system.  Thanks

This is controlled by CV116.If your system can read CV's,then read the value to CV116 then substract 32 from whatever reading you get and rewrite it to the new value.

You probably will have to reprogram it "on the main" since your prog. track probably doesn't have sufficient power to reprogram a Tsunami without a programming booster.Your system's instruction should explain how to do this.Don't forget to remove all other locos from the main when you do this.

If you can't read the CV's,then do a blind reset and try giving it a value of 7.This should correct your problem.However,CV116 has other interesting settings available, like manual notching.I think you should visit Soundtraxx's website,go to "Diesel user's guide" manual and read about it.A good read indeed.

Thank You Jacktal   I reduced the value of cv 116 by 32 and it now works perfectly.  Thanks again!
