Watching MR videos on MS Surface Tablet
Posted by conrail079 on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 1:46 PM

Can't get the "how to" videos to play on my Surface tablet. With all this new emphasis on videos I will be needing this.

Thanks

What happens when you click on one? Probably missing a component needed to view them, since it's basically a stripped down version of Windows 8. Not sure if Flash is required, or if it's available for RT.

This post isn't designed to debate what tablets are better.

Your problem lies somewhere else.  I have an ipad and watch the vids no problem.  We all know Apple's/Job's aversion to flash.  ipad does not support flash. So as Randy suggests you may be missing a component or codec.

If they work on an Apple product then they don;t need Flash. So - question is, what format are they in? It's got to be something Apple-freiendly, considering Klambach in general is a Mac shop. Perhaps MP4, which is iPad and iPhone friendly. Quicktime would probably load the required codecs for Windows RT - if there is a version available. I have QT because it kind of comes with iTunes (I have an iPhone), but I've also installed all sorts of other codecs for other video and audio formats. I know the codec pack I installed on Win 7 will work on Win 8, but not RT.
