Why do you have to change out the light bulbs when the locos are changed to DCC.Are all DCC systems set up that lights have to be changed.Thinking about DCC but things like this keeps me from it.

Only older models that use incandescent bulbs sometimes require changing to an LED.  For the models you mention, they may already have LED headlights so nothing will need to be changed.  Changing the bulbs usually comes into play only if you're removing the factory constant lighting circuit board.  If you're just plugging a decoder into the circuit board, you usually don't need to do anything to the lights.

Some (Athearn) are still using 1.5 Volt incandescent bulbs that quickly burn out; others have to be changed because the bulbs draw too much current for a decoder.
