Hi Guys,
Quick question. I have 2 pro cabs for my layout. One of the cabs has the green backlight lcd screen on all the time. The other, the light won't come on at all. Is this a problem?, or do I have to activate it somehow?
Thank You,
Mike
If the defective cab is plugged in the same as the working cab, then you have a bad cab, Happened tome but NCE repaired it for free as I had registered the system when I bought it, even though I had the cab for a couple years. The cab worked but very difficult to read anything.
Your mileage may vary.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
Mike,
Are both of these ProCab throttles new? If so then I would give Larry Larsen @ NCE a call.
If this is an older ProCab throttle (e.g. 6 years or >), I seem to recall that NCE didn't have backlit LCD displays for their ProCabs then. It wasn't until they released their Power Cab in early '06 that they started using the backlit LCDs.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.

Wrong !!!
I have had an NCE Power Pro since the mid 1990's and the ProCab controller has always been back lit.

The above is my opinion, from an active and experienced Model Railroader in N scale and HO since 1961.
(Modeling Freelance, Eastern US, HO scale, in 1962, with NCE DCC for locomotive control and a stand alone LocoNet for block detection and signals.) http://waynes-trains.com/ at home, and N scale at the Club.
Thanks for the correction, Elmer.
