From what I see on e-Bay, Fenfa is a very cheap toy train set selling for as little as $7.95.  It is highly unlikely that it can have anything at all done to it to change to track power or make it go in reverse.

ganny, it is what it is and was never made to be any more. To convert it would cost as much as buying a decent running engine such as a new Bachmann diesel. Do you have good quality tracks and power pack to run a DC engine?

If you decide to replace the whole set then do not go and buy another inexpensive cheaply made set. Please do yourself a really big favor and get one from Atlas or Kato. Not doing so will guaranty more frustration and disappointment.

This is my opinion.
