DB100 and NCE P515
Posted by nickyb on Thursday, May 17, 2012 10:58 AM

Guys need help with DB100 that's old but still want to use with a NCE P515 P.S. Hooked it up and power light came, is in run mode and HO switch is checked. I do not get anything on my DT400 throttle when plugged in nor do I get power to tracks, of course throttle has to read so you can turn on power. answered my own question there I think. What can I do besides buy a new DB150.

The DB100 is a booster only, and has no command station abilities.

I have A Zephyr How do I hook the DB100 booster to the Zephyr. and do I have to run a jumper from ground to the Sync on the booster. I have it hooked up like this.

Zephyr Loco A ------ Booster Loco A ----- To UP5 . Rail A and Rail B are connected to Booster.

is this correct. I am new to DCC.

I'm assuming the "Zephyr Loco A ------ Booster Loco A ----- To UP5" connections are via Loconet jacks and cables, correct?

And that Rail A and Rail B of the DB100 are connected to the track, and that Rail A and Rail B of the Zephyr are NOT connected to anything? (This is important - never connect the output of a booster to the output of another booster, or both to the same section of track, etc.)

If the above two statements are correct, then all you should have left to do is connect the SYNC and GROUND terminals on the DB100 together with a short length of wire.

NOTE:  All this info on the DB100 is available on the Digitrax Web site under Products-->Command Stations and Boosters-->Retired Products.

Thank you so much for your help and advice. I followed your input and it's up and running. I have an output of 15.4 volts AC on the entire layout in every power district also 4.6 - 5.0 amps. It's so nice to have Gentlemen like yourself to rely on for help.  Again Thank You.
