Bachmann EZ Track Turnouts Conversion To DCC
Posted by alloboard on Saturday, April 28, 2012 10:59 PM

How do you integrate a Bachmann EZ track to my existing Digitrax DCC system. I have a Digitrax DS64 4 output switch controller and a Bachmann EZ track No. 44561 remote turnout left. Do I still have to purchase a slow motion switch controller like the Tortoise switch controller? How will I wire from a Digitrax DS64 to the Bachmann EZ track switch controller? The DS64 manual only shows how to wire the outputs. I did a little research however I did not find any manual explaining how to integrate a Bachmann EZ track switch.

Personally, I think it would be wiser for you to sit down and learn the basics of DCC first before tackling something of this nature.  Concentrate on learning decoders and installation and CV programming.  Once you start getting that under your fingernails, you can then branch out from there.  Learning takes time but eventually pays off in dividends if you stick with it.

And, if you haven't already tried, alloboard, you might want to consider checking to see if there are any MRRing clubs in your area.  That would be a great way to get hands-on experience and instruction from folks who can personally take you through the paces.  Even better if they also operate their layout with Digitrax.

FWIW...

All of my 16 pieces of motive power some of which are locomotives and a couple are Rail Diesel Cars and some electric commuter cars. All of those have DCC with their own address, I've tested them and all work properly. I've changed CV's flawlessly. My DCC system has a Digitrax DT402D throttle a Digitrax PR2 hooked on to my Windows 7 PC with the Java Model Railroad Interface software along with my Android phone with Engine Driver software, which I can control my trains with my cell phone no matter where I am. I can look at my trains with my IP network camera at the same time. In fact I've established the foundation for signalling too. I installed a Digitrax SE8C signal controller. The next step is to wire LED's from the SE8C controller into Pennsylvania RR signal disk heads. I will check out the MRRing clubs.
