You should be able to MU them as well, so that you can use one throttle for both. With Digitrax it's real easy, I'm not sure of NCE. You can do this and they don't have to be coupled btw. Kind of like a pusher, etc.
Speed matching may not be necessary, but probably is. Just depends on how different their speeds are for any given throttle setting.

Consisting with NCE is also easy. You should read the manual first, as always. After that you should have no problems just looking at the throttle and pushing the right buttons. Everything is labeled really clear.
