DH165LO Reverse Light do not work
Posted by topito on Sunday, April 15, 2012 3:37 PM

Hi:

Few days ago I intalled a DH165LO Digitrax Decoder in an Proto 2000 RS27.

Everythig was Ok with the exception of the rear light.

When I reverse the loco direction the rear light remains OFF.

What did I wrong or what CV must I program in order to turn ON the rear light.

Thanks in advance

Did the rear light work on DC?

Default programmign in the decoder is for basic directional lights, so unless you changed something it should be set fine. You might try doign a reset, CV8=8 to see if it might have been messed up.

Are they the original lights? If they were replaced with LEDs, the polarity could be wrong.

It could be a bad decoder or, hopefully, only a loose wire at the terminal on the decoder board.

The DH165LO has a built in resistor, so you probably have not burned out the lamp.

Is the lamp a 1.5 volt incandescent or an LED?

It's a common install issue.  Glad you got it fixed easily.
