Just about anything will work. Here's an install from TCS< but the method applies to any decoder brand, really.

According to this "outdated" review, MRC makes a decoder for this unit:

http://mrr.trains.com/en/News%20and%20Reviews/Product%20Reviews/Staff%20Reviews/2011/01/Atlas%20Model%20Railroad%20Co,-d-,%20NRE%20Genset%20diesel%20switcher.aspx

However, based on current feedback from other forum members, I would be extremely hesitant on MRC.

I am familiar with Soundtraxx. They don't have a decoder for that particular unit. Since it's a switcher, you could use Soundtraxx TSU-AT1000, either 828048 or 828049. Or you could use TSU-1000 #827109

I forgot to ask in my reply:  Are you looking for motor control only or sound also? The recommendations I gave are for motor and sound
