Hi folks,
Help, late on last year my mate put a CP Kato SD90/43MAC (big ugly brute) on the bench with a Tsunami drop in decoder and asked if I’d have a go at fitting it for him, as I had retro fitted a Tsunami 1000 into an Alco FA for him, like the daft sod I am I said ok.
When made a start I took the light board out fitted new one, wired up the pickups to each corner, hooked up the motor to the tags on the left side and fitted a mini oval speaker over the back bogie (I’d lopped ¼" off chassis top first) and soldering it to the first 2 tags on right. As usual I tested it at this stage. Apart from going backwards (crossed wires) we’re going great!!
That’s when the DA (domestic authorities, her who shall be obeyed) reckoned I’d done enough for now; she had other ideas and needed my help, again.
That’s when the paperwork went missing and it all went pear shaped. Had a look on Soundtraxx site. Couldn’t even find a look alike so I’ve tried the lighting from memory, waste of time. I wired up the Ditch Lights to tags 3&4 on right side (F5&F6) and common’d them all up to the last tag. Nothing just continuous rear light lit.
What I need to know is, how to put up a photo to ID the chip if this copy hasn’t worked and someone with a copy of its paperwork.
Be in touch.

Here's the manual (it's a pdf file - give it time to load): http://www.soundtraxx.com/manuals/tsuinstallation.pdf
Here's the Technical Reference Guide: http://www.soundtraxx.com/manuals/Tsunami%20Diesel%20Technical%20Reference_1.13.pdf
It seems the Tsunami manuals are somewhat generic.

Hi Jay,
Sorry, been laid-up a few days. Ye, I got the manuals, retro fitted about 20 locos. The in-packet instrution sheet has spesific instructions as to wiring the ditch lights. I recon I'm getting a bit past it, I put it away safe and that was it, still looking.
That's why I'm hoping someone's done the drop-in instalation on the Kato SD90/43MAC and still has the sheet and can e-mail me at john.pickles87@ntlworld.com
