Digitrax DH163 start speed
Posted by Odie on Saturday, March 10, 2012 4:30 PM

I have been messing around with a Digitrax DH-163 decoder in an Athearn SD70, and I cannot seem to get the start voltage to move on this one. The loco will not move until about speed step 70...and I cannot get anything to change by adjusting CV2 through the entire range. I can plug a TCS T1 decoder in and everything works correctly...so I must be doing something wrong with the DH-163.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Do a 'RESET' on the DH163(CV8 = 8).  Now, adjust the value of CV2 until the engine starts moving at speed step 1.  If this fails, you have a bad decoder.  The reason I asked you to do a RESET is so the acceleration and other speed table stuff has not been altered.
