Digitrax SDH164D Variations
Posted by alloboard on Friday, February 24, 2012 7:21 PM

How come Digitrax does not make plug and play SDH164D's? Will a TCS or any other third party 9-pin harness adapter cable with a male end to plug into the Digitrax SDH164 and the other end to plug into a 9 pin DCC plug'n play socket work on any locomotive with a 9-pin DCC socket?

Not sure what you're missing here. There are 3 board replacement for Kato locos of the SDH164, and the generic one is 9 pin, can;lt get more universal than that. You can wire it in, or use any number of 9 pin to 8 pin harnesss to connect it. On locos with a 9 pin, like recent AThearns, it just plugs in.
