I have purchased a new Bachmann RS-3 which comes with a non-sound decoder (8-pin plug).
Can anyone recommend a sound decoder for this loco?
Thank you.
Check the Soundtraxx web site. the Tsunami's are very good sound decoders.

The above is my opinion, from an active and experienced Model Railroader in N scale and HO since 1961.
(Modeling Freelance, Eastern US, HO scale, in 1962, with NCE DCC for locomotive control and a stand alone LocoNet for block detection and signals.) http://waynes-trains.com/ at home, and N scale at the Club.
I did not find any Bachmann suggestions at the SoundTraxx site as this is a new Bachmann release.
SoundTraxx does have some Alco sounds though.
Below is a link to the RS-3 and you can see what prime movers it had. Select one from the different sound decoder suppliers.

No idea on speaker location.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
