I have a Digitrax DH165A0 installed in a Bachmann HO HHP-8 locomotive. I am using a Digitrax DT402D throttle connected to a Digitrax DB150 and Digitrax PR3. The lights change according to direction. How can I enable all lights "head and tail lights" to come on at the same time when it sits still? I want to be able to do this for all my other locomotive.
CV49 and CV50 both to 32 should give you a non-directional light that turns on and off with F0 for both the headlight and taillight.
Since you have a PR3, download JMRI and program your locos with DecoderPro, you won;t have to figure any of this out, just ID the loco and then pick the lighting effects from a dropdown list.

Did you check to see if its in the DH165A0 manual that came with your decoder? The info will more than likely be listed under the heading "Lighting Effects". I keep all my decoder manuals together so that I can refer to them at a later date - if need be.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Examples in the included instruction sheet are usually for directional lights with ditch lights - haven been for most every Digitrax decoder that has enough functions to support ditch lights. All the possible settings are found in the Decoder Manual, which should have come with your system, or you cna download it from the Digitrax site. Or, rather than attempt to decipher the dozens of lighting effects available, just use DecoderPro.
Is there a link that I can find good hands on on how to use Decoder Pro or 3. This is the first time in my life that I am taking this type of operation . I feel like I know what I'm doing, yet I feel overwhelmed by the technicality.
Oddly enough the best site is http://www.decoderpro.com/ being a free application there is really not a manual per-se. The most difficult part is getting it installed and configured for you hardware. There are sections on that. Once you have it installed it is really quite easy and intuitive to use.

There actually is a fairly up to date manual now for JMRI, available on the site. The docs always lag the application version a bit but it really doesn;t change that much. If you have the PR3 workign with the Soundloader software then it will work fine with JMRI, really all you have to do is download it and install it if you are using a Windows computer - it will automatically load any other bits that you might not already have, if needed.
