Can't shut off sound on QSI equipped loco
Posted by TheK4Kid on Sunday, December 11, 2011 8:21 PM

I have a BLI 2-10-4 steam loco which has QSI sound in it.

I am using two NCE Pro Cab hand held corded throttles on my HO layout so far.

All the functions of the 2-10-4 work, except I can't shut off the DCC sound when I pres "8" on my throttle. My other BLI QSI equipped locos work properly and the sound shuts off when I press "8"

This problem happens even when I use either Pro Cab throttle, so it's not a bad NCE Pro Cab throttle.

I am kind of perplexed and think that perhaps I programmed something incorrectly?

You can program the amount of muting in CV51.1. First program CV49 =1 then set CV51 to anything from 0(full mute) to 63(50%of full volume) You can do this in ops mode on the mainline.

I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!

I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

That said, pressing 8 on the throttle should mute the sound, so something is still wrong.
