I have three Life Like Proto Heritage 2-8-4 locos.
I have previously added a Digitrax DH163LO decoder to each of these Berkshires.
I love all three of these locos, so now I want to add sound.
Looking for something that faithfully reproduces the original sound on the prototype.
Any recommendations?

Lately I have been impressed with the Loksound version 4 decoders along with the Select. While the Select, QSI Titan and Tsunami have generic steam sounds that are not too bad the version 4 loksounds have non generic sounds recorded from actual working locos or recorded and digitized audio from recorded prototypes. With any sound project the best results come from fitting the largest speaker you can and enclosing the back side. Using the tender shell as an enclosure helps but I have also used an enclosure inside the shell. This helps out especially in brass tenders and tenders with lots of rattles and holes that leak sound.

I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
Thanks, Pete, that is very helpful.
Anyone else?
