QSI Titan in the EM-1
Posted by hdtvnut on Friday, December 9, 2011 1:59 AM
My new Bachmann EM-1 was equipped with a Soundtraxx DCC board which has a 21 pin header for a future ST sound module. I decided to replace it with a QSI Titan U Articulated decoder while waiting. It was a pain to get it working in Regulated Throttle Control mode, both because I wasn't familiar with PID's 12 parameters, and because they are triple indexed. However, I like the final results. If requested, settings are available. Hal

How about some photos of the insides. Some here will be interested in the details that words alone will not describe. I picture is worth a thousand words. Easy enough to do with Photo Bucket.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.

Rich, I'm sorry, but there is nothing to photograph. I removed the Soundtraxx board, but I left Bachmann's wires full length for now as well as the decoder's, in case I have to restore the tender for a return. The result is there is only a "cake" of wires visible wrapped on top of the Titan, an ugly but temporary install. UncBob just got his loco and I'm sure he hasn't modified it; you might ask him. Hal
