Walthers trainline locomotives

How easy or hard is it to install DCC/Sound in an HO Walthers Trainline locomotive and is it worth the cost and labor?

I have a Trainline GP9M locomotive.  I popped a Digitrax DH123 into it very easily.  The engine runs very well and it's very quiet.  Too quiet.  I bought a Tsunami and that will be the next project with this engine.  I've also got some add-on MU hoses to add to it and spruce it up a bit.

The GP9M is the engine to the right in this picture.  The other one is a dummy, an old Athearn rubber-band drive that's been gutted and equipped with a SoundBug.

This particular engine did not come with a trailing headlight, only one for the cab end.  When I install the Tsunami, I'll put a LED back there.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

I have a Trainline FA, and it was a fairly easy install. No plug, so it had to be hard wired, but it already had individual wires from the track pickups and motor terminals so there was no issue with isolating the motor, just connect the red, black, orange, adn grey wires. I replaced the light bulb with an LED and 1K resistor.

Thank you for the answers. I'm going to run a short Amtrak train on my layout. Walthers Amtrak trainline loco is cheaper compared to the Kato with DCC/sound. Not many Amtrak diesel locos out there in the market.
