I did a search and found others who used CV=8 for their Bachmann decoder reset.

So it does work at least on some of theirs.

I have seen that CV8, use 8 as mentioned by the Bachmann rep at the Bachmann forums.

 I have never had a Bachmann Decoder, don't they use a cheap Lenz decoder? If it is CV 8 has to be sat to 33 to clear the decoder.

Ken, You are correct that some use #33. Yes

So depending on the decoder if one does not work try the other number.                      If neither work it may just be dead.

This whole thread is one reason that I own a decoder tester.

Something that all of us should have on our work bench.
