PS14 and PM42 Wiring
Posted by Aikidomaster on Sunday, October 2, 2011 2:36 PM

I am having trouble figuring out where the PS14 plug connects to the PM42. I have read the directions on PM42 installation. I bought the PM42's about one year ago and the directions for installation refer to the PS12. I know that the PS14 is the Digitrax upgrade. But, the directions have the PS12 connecting to Pin 3 and Pin C. The "plug" on the PS14 does not seem to work that way. What am I missing?Bang Head

When I installed a PM42 on my clubs DCC system (super cheif) I went to Radio Shack and bought a female socket for the PS14 to plug into then ran the wires to the edge board where they connect to the PM 42.

You can either install a 2mm male socket to the PM42 or just connect your power supply  the way most have been doing it for years. Cut the coax  plug off of the PS14 and connect its wires to the PM42. Red wire is positive, white is negative. If there are more wires, ignore them.

Sounds like an easy solution.Big SmileToo bad the PM42 or the PS14 were not designed for a simple plug in.Bang Head
