Hey guys.
I'm back with a question about a Bachmann Spectrum 2-6-6-2 USRA sound loco that I bought about a year are so ago. Probably the early unit with the straight tender. The sound is very anemic.1: I would like to know if anyone has replaced the speaker or built a speaker enclosure?2: Would the sound improve to any degree, without replacing the decoder? The reason I ask is because I used a high base speaker in one of my GPs and there was a major improvement in the sound.I'm trying not to break the budget.
As always, thanks.

Yes, I thought about that, but if some one has already done that to no avail then maybe it's the decoder.I didn't want to reinvent the wheel.
Thank.

Anemic does not tell us much. Be more specific. The Tsunami is a good decoder. If this is the factory equipped Tsunami, the decoder has a few less features.
Look at the below site for SoundTraxx Tsunami info. Look in Curriculum.

You can check with Litchfield Station. They do answer email and they have speaker baffles. Depends on which speaker is in the tender.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
I agree anemic doesn't say much.
Is the volume to low or does it sound distorted. I have several Tsunami Bachmann steam locos all sound excellent. Had to turn some of the volumes down. Bachmann does a pretty good job with speaker installation, using the tender shell as the baffle.
Truck.
OK Guys, I'll do my best. The sound is weak, and tinny. Whistle is flat,(anemic) low volume. Overall volume is set at about 90% and whistle is some what less. It has always had poor sound.
Thanks.
