Coal Loading Sound

Is there a sound available for a coaling tower? There is a water fill up sound on many decoders, why not a coaling tower sound?

That would not be suitable for a oil fired steam locomotive. Steam locomotive switchers depending on size would probably have coal shoveled into the bunker. More features in decoders, more cost. There are different sound decoder companies that all have somewhat different features. Decodes might evolve in that direction. DCC sound decoders have not been around very long.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.

There is a website (can't remember the name, maybe someone will?) that sells sound modules and one of them is a coal tower dumping coal. I downloaded the sound file from the web site (you can play the sound tracks on the website) and put it on a small recorder device (came as the 'Saw' movie character) and I have a speaker mounted inside my Walthers Concrete coaling tower. I have a push button on the facia and whenever I have to 'load some coal' I push the button and get up to  30 seconds of coal sounds. Grant it my sound system isn't as good as the $35 one they sell, it will do for now. I most likely will purchase the real one when I get to that point on my layout.  Priorities, you know!

PS: They also have sound tracks of Roundhouse and Machine Shop sounds. I also made a recording of the Harbor sounds for my harbor scene. These are great sound tracks and as I said I will eventually purchase their devices.

Here is the link to the sound modules made by ITT products. The 'Coal Drop' is the one I mentioned for the coaling tower.
