I have two HO scale MTH SD70Ae's e3quipped with factory ProtoSound 3.0. These are very good locomotives. However, I would like to adjust some of the individual sound volumes using the CV for each.
Does anyone have a list of CV for the MTH locos and what each CV controls? MTH web site is less than useful for technical information IMO.
If I can get the sound volumes straightened out I hope to post a reader review of these models.
Thank you
TP1
You can't adjust the individual sounds, only the main system volume (F7). I assume your running a DCC system? And not MTH's DCS?
There are limits what you can program, but the ones I only care about is the momentum. At least that works pretty good. I use the NCE throttle, and it has a momentum button, so changing it is really easy. And I consist the MTHs using the universal consist.

As noted you're stuck with the default. If you know a shop that has a DCS system you can get them to change the settings for you. The shop to look for will carry O gauge.

Sorry I did not mention. Yes, I am operating DCC.
Looks like I need to find a person or business that runs the DCS system from MTH as suggested in another reply. If CV values and features are configured using DCS, will the changes remain permanent to the loco decoder even when running on another manufacturers DCC system?
I have adjusted CV3 and CV4 to get a reasonable momentum from the diesels. As for consisting, I have two units, I too just use simple consisting using my DCC system.

Yes, once the volume is set with the DCS system you should be fine as long as you don't reset the decoder.
Dear Tony & Friends
I'm considering one of the MTH SD70ACes. I like the orange BNSF with the swoosh because it's pretty. I don't even know what BNSF stands for.
What's a CV?
You could visit MTH's site and look for DCS dealers. Someone at a dealer may be able to help you.
I'm very new to this hobby.
