Anybody using the nce power cab? I'm new to dcc and am building a HO switching layout which will use one, possibly two, locomotives. The price seems very reasonable and lots of people seem to like their other systems. Any thoughts?
Very good system. I have had one since its inception. It gives you a seven foot cord for walk around. I made a 3 foot cord so I can use at my workbench with an extra plug panel and power supply.
Welcome to the world of DCC.

I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
Lots of people, not me however. Still it is an excellent system, made by a reputable manufacturer. You will hear very few complaints about it, just occasionally when someone hits one of the operational limits, but based on everything you have posted on other threads I think you will be very happy with it.

I have NCE at home and Digitrax at the club. If I had to do it all over again I would still go with NCE for my home layout. To me, it is much more user friendly.
You will find that each person has their own favorite system and will want to tell you about it. Do a search here on the forums and you will find many many discussions about the different systems.

The above is my opinion, from an active and experienced Model Railroader in N scale and HO since 1961.

west willow,
I bought my Power Cab when it first came out in early 2006 and have enjoyed it very much. I find it very intuitive to use.
If you'd like to read an initial review on the Power Cab, go to the review page of my web site at the link below. There's also a review of the CAB-04p throttle and Smart Booster (both SB3 & SB3a)
