Installed a new decoder (DH123AT) into an Athearn GP38-2. All works well at default loco address (03). I have a program track that is three pieces of EZ-track on a narrow board. It was connected to the DCS50 with a DPDT center off switch (to switch from the program track to the main). When I placed the loco on the programming track to change the address, I get the "d nd" return on the display. Can't read or write any CV's. Thought it was the loco or decoder. Placed another loco on the programming track. Same behavior. Other loco operates fine on the main, and responds to its (4-digit) address. Bypassed the DPDT switch, and ran the lead straight from the DCS50 (program) to the programming track rails. Same result. Same result with other loco. Tried operations mode. Placed new loco on main (by itself). Tried to write the 4-digit address, no joy. Decided to RTFM. Reset Op Switch 39. Still no joy, except now the lights don't work on the new loco.
The DCS50 runs trains great, both sound and silent (well, except for the light problem after I reset OpSw39). It has had very little use since I bought it maybe 30 months ago. I run it through a power block, and unplug it when not in use, so it hasn't gotten any jolts. Any ideas on what to do?
Have you emailed a copy of your post to Digitrax? I have heard from others that they are very good at figuring out their systems problems.
Can't help as I have never had any programing problems with any of my Digitrax stuff including decoders.

Are you sure you have the program track wires int he right terminals? Program A and Program B are NOT right next to each other, the ground is in between.
ALso ditch all that toggle switch stuff and hook the program track terminals right to the track and try again.
