I scanned the manual but didn't see my problem, just added the dt402 hand held to my zephyr plus the E.B. as the soon to be booster . Ive been working on laying track in the yard and I have three different trains that I run Thru for testing what Ive laid .

 heres where  the problem lies ,when not using the trains I stop them and unplug the power.  then when I need to test some more track I plug the power cord(for the zephyr) back in BUT all three trains start moving in reverse (slowly thank goodness) but the throttles on the dt402 & the zephyr are @ 0 and theres no control over the trains ,I have to reset the power to the track button on the zephyr to get control . I never had this prior to adding the dt402 ??

a few specs ,I'M HO,all trains are p2kw/Qsi ,the Empire builder is only connected by the link cable ,no power or track connections yet(just being used for a place to plug in the dt402),zephyr is in command EM is in booster but unpowered ..thats it  any Ideas ?   Jerry

Take out the manual on the Zephyr and look for the instructions for clearing the memory of addresses that are in it. It should be under Option Switches.  On the SEB it is option switch 39. When you shut down the system you should make sure you have properly dispatched all the loco's you have run. Instead of using the DB150 as a connection point for the throttle, get a length of the flat 6 wire cable and 6 pin modular plugs and make an extension cord to plug the DT400 directly into the Zephyr. If you have not configured the DB150 as a booster only it may be trying to act as a command station along with the Zephyr.

 If the DB150 is not connected to the track then don;t even connect a loconet cable to it. Somehow you managed to get an unbalanced DC (like using address 00) on the track. You might also want to program all your locos to NOT run on DC.

 I have this same setup, except my DB150 is actually up and runnign and connected to the track, the Zephyr has only the loconet cable coming out of it, it is not powering any track. The only time anythign wierd happend was when I powered them up seperately, now I have both power supplies (Zephyr and DB150) connected to X10 modules so I can turn everythign on and off at the same time. I also always turn off track power when I'm done - I don;t liek surprises. Also do NOT set the OpSw setting that automatically sets the track power to on when powering up - again, I do not like surprises. My track power stays off until I use the power button on the DT402. Although somehow my Tsunami powers up BEFORE I turn on track power - that is somewhat curious.

 Make sure your jumpers are in place to make the DB150 a booster. And if the Zephyr will power a seperate power district, you will also need to run a ground wire between the Zephyr's ground terminal and the ground terminal on the DB150. If the Zephyr's track output will not be used, or will be for accessory decoders like mine is, then you don;t need the ground wire.
