Would those of you that use the 9gram servos and extender cables tell me where you buy them from BESIDES Tam Valley Depot? I am buying all my servo electronics from them.

You can find them on eBay for about $2/$3 each from various sellers in China. I made a total of 3 orders from one seller, the first arrived in what seemed like record time from China considering it was $13.98 for 6 servos with free shipping. Second order I ade was for another 6 servos plus 10 extension cords. Order came fast but was missing 2 servos, still waiting for the missing 2. Third order I made at the beginning of Decmber and while it was postmarked Dec 15 from China, I didn;t get them until just last week. So there seems to be some customs issue delaying things. When I need more to work on my cement plant I will probably look for a different seller, there are quite a few to choose from, although it could all just be the same company. I was a little disappointed sinc emy first order was very smooth and no problems, wasn;t quite 2 weeks and I had the items.

Do you have a hobby shop in your area that specializes in airplanes and parts ? They should have the servos and extension wires, but will be retail prices.
I get my extension wires from All Electronics at a much cheaper price than from a hobby shop, but shipping is a killer unless you're ordering other items at the same time.

just cut the wires and solder in extensions. don't forget to put the heat shrink insulation on BEFORE you solder them up
I did check with a couple of LHS, because I do like to throw a bone their way every now and then - tough when MB Klein beats them on nearly everything and I get orders fromt here in 2 days usually. Plus the LHS that actually has a good selection is more than an hour away. On servos, not even close. EVen Tower can't come close - to what Duncan charges at Tam Valley. American-made servos (if any of them actually are) are far too expensive and there's no real benefit for our purposes. Flying an expensive RC plane that took months to build I might feel differently, although such a thing would probably not be using ultra light micro servos in the first place.
All small packet deliveries from around the world to the US are being slowed down now. The United States Department of Homeland Security is continuing to require increased security measures for items carried on passenger airlines. As a result, some mail entering the US from around the world, that would normally be sent via passenger aircraft must now travel by other means, including ships and cargo planes.
I'm still waiting for an order from Hattons in London and I know they shipped it a month ago.
About the servos -- I've just been looking at the SG90m ones on EBay. Is there any functional difference between the brands? Are any noisier or quieter than others?
The ones I was browsing had 6" wires. Any that typically have 12" or more to cut down on the number of extensions I'll need?

They all seem to be the same, haven;t seen any with longer wires. You can plug in as many extensions as you need.
