I have an atlas MP15 switcher that derailed shorted out the NCE system. The switcher shutters and shakes now when starting in forward or reverse then shuts down. All sounds work ok and all other engines are A ok. What hppened? HELP!
Hmm, sounds like you need to just reset the decoder back to factory defaults. Sometimes it happens on shorts of the system, they lose their mind.

I agree with Mike. Reset the QSI decoder on your MP15 decoder and everything ought to work again.
For future reference, KHM, here's a handy link where all the decoder reset settings are located in one place:
How to Rescue a Faulty Decoder
The reset matrix is ~1/2 way down the page. The QSI reset sequence is at the bottom.

Thanks I figured it out' it's amazing what you can learn when u read the manual.
I had the same thing happen once with an Atlas switcher. The reset fixed mine as well. Since it happened you should do the quarter test on your track at the farthest point to make sure it trips the protection in your system. Problems like you saw are sometimes an indication of not enough feeders or too small of a buss.
