Im having problems changing the address on my new MTH SD70M-2. I am using digitrax zephyer DCC system. I have had troubles with my Atlas locos in the past. Changed a CV value and used a 100ohm resistor and got them to work. What do I need to do to get the address to change from 03 ?
If it is a factory installed sound system, it will only program on the main.

MTH loco's program different than standard DCC
Program on the main
Set CV29 to 38
The loco has it's cab number pre programmed so that when you set CV29 to 38 the cab number is set.
In the manual that came with the loco it will note this on the page showing the few cv values available.

So, are you saying that if one had duplicate engines and wanted to change the number/address of one of them, this is not possible? Just curious.

Sure is possible, for a 4 digits number, simply program CV17, CV18 and CV29 to the value you want. This is what I did with the only MTH loco I programmed so far. I don't remember if I programmed 38 or 34 in CV29.
Yes, as noted you can still use CV17 and 18. The CV29 to 38 just makes it easier.
Also the standard CV29 settings do not all apply. Remember MTH is DCS that plays DCC a little and doesn't follow the NMRA guidelines.
