NCE and Decoder Pro
Posted by blabride on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 7:58 PM

Hello,

This for the NCE users out there. I have a powercab and I am about to attempt to do some speed matching of some F units. Is it easier to use the Powercab or decoder pro and a computer? How do you interface your programming track to the computer? Is the NCE handheld involved at all when using decoder pro? Also how does the sb3 usb interface fit in to the scenario or does it?

Thanks

SB

Everything you need to know about JMRI and NCE is here: http://jmri.sourceforge.net/help/en/html/hardware/nce/NCE.shtml

Scroll down, it discusses the various interfaces and the features and limitations of each method. The only way to hook a computer to the PowerCab is the USB interface. A full PowerPro system has multiple options.
