Tomar Tail Sign Rectangle Santa Fe
Posted by rudywa on Saturday, March 20, 2010 6:54 PM

I have a Tomar N scale Tail Sign Rectangle Santa Fe. Some time ago I purchased a Lighted sign kit N-604 and intended to place it on the back of a coach I have. There is only one thing that is stopping me from installing it. I read the instructions and it says to attach the light with a small fillet of acetate cement around the hole to secure the wires. I have been unable to find any product except being used in large quantities in construction. Do you know what product this is referring to? Please help me as I would like to use it. It simply says acetate cement. If anyone has installed a Tomar Tail Sign Kit, please help me.

Thank You.

I don't know why they would specify something as uncommon and hard to find as acetate cement -- any type of Goop (Plumbers, Household, Craft, Automotive, etc.) or similar silicon compound should work just as well -- even caulking.

Acetate cement - good old Ambroid. Still available. http://www.ambroid.com/Ambroid.html

Although other things should work just fine. A dab of latex caulk would definitely work well.
