My PCM Y6-b has a Loksound 3.5 decoder and I am using a PR 3 with Decoder Pro. I am wanting to change CV 3 and 4. I put in the settings I want and hit write, decoder beeps and then it is done. I then read all CV's and the CV's I changed shows up to what I sat them for.
Places it on the track, still starts and stops the same as before.
I am letting the PR 3 / Decoder Pro pick its own mode. Could that be the problem?
Even if I cannot change the CV's, still a small prices to pay for a great sounding and smooth running decoder.

Try changing the CVs on the main. That way you can dial them to what you think is best and try it instantly.

Keep in mind the allowable range in a Loksound decoder is twice that of Digitrax - 0-64 for Loksound vs 0-31 for Digitrax. So each number is less momentum than the equivalent number in a Digitrax decoder. The Loksound manual says the defaults are 8 for CV3 and 6 for CV4, not 0 and 0, so using any lower number will result in faster acceleration than a stock reset one. Changeing from 8 to 10 won;t be as big a difference in operation compared to changing a Digitrax decoder form 8 to 10, so it could just be you haven't used a large enough value to make a noticeable difference.

Randy, I sat CV 3 & 4 to 30, that should slow down the start up speed quit a bit, right? I will try cranking them all the way up and see what happens.

Yes, at 30 it should take about 25 seconds to hit top speed if you crank the throttle all the way up from a dead stop, according to the formulat in the manual.
