When I use Decoder Pro reading QSI decoders in speed control (might be a different section) I have seen V-Start and Max Volts. I know what V-Start is, but what is Max Volts?
Does Max Volts effect top end speed? More than one of us have complained about how slow are Proto 2000 E-7 with QSI decoders are. Would Max Volts speed them up? My PK Max Volt is sat on 1.
Thank you for your time and coming answers.

Max volts is often referred to as V-Max or V-Top. It IS what you think it is, however when set to 0 or 255, depending ont he decoder, it allows full track power through at full throttle. The only thing you cna do with this CV is REDUCE the top speed, so those 300 smph steam engines can be limited to a more realistic speed. Bottom line is, the 'slow' E's is simply the gearing. I suppose if you replaced the worms and trucks with ones off an older run, the new one would be just as fast as the old ones.
