Stewart VO-1000 speaker/decoder suggestion
Posted by richg1998 on Thursday, January 21, 2010 12:52 PM

While looking for ideas on this install, I found this idea, at least the speaker idea. I will not have to mill the frame and I can use a 16mm X 35mm speaker instead of a 14mm x 25mm speaker.

Not too crazy about the sound version but I know SoundTraxx is working on a Baldwin VO-1000 sound decoder.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.

I was looking at the Select series and the Baldwin seems to be the 6 cyl 660 hp diesel. The VO-1000 had the 8 cyl 1000 hp diesel.

Might not be much difference but so far the 660A diesel is 660 hp. I know Baldwin made a lot of changes between the VO-660 and VO-1000 were somewhat similar.

SoundTraxx was at the SMS RR in NJ supposedly recording sounds of the VO-1000 loco.
