Aside from the connector locations, what is the difference between the two?
I see more sounds available for the AT (Atlas) model than the GN (Genesis) model.
Does anyone know why the GN has those two large capacitors and the AT does not?
I've been inside both MFG's products, and it looks like they should be reasonably interchangeable.
Thanks.
On the Genesis model the capacitors are on the circuit board; on the Atlas version a single capacitor is on the ends of two wires. The Genesis version has outputs for 1.5 Volt Athearn light bulbs and the Atlas doesn't.
More sounds are available for the Atlas version because it is generic and will fit into several different brands. The Genesis version is made only to replace Athearn light boards, of which there were fewer models.
